Approved | Swimming Pool and Deck – Moreton Bay Region
JREY® trading as Urban Planners Queensland secured a development permit from Moreton Bay Regional Council for the construction of a new swimming pool and associated deck.
While the scope of works was relatively minor, a development permit was required due to the site being affected by both coastal and environmental planning controls. The proposal triggered assessable development under the Dwelling House Code, including assessment against earthworks and environmental area provisions, as well as assessment against Performance Outcome PO2 of the Coastal Hazard Overlay Code.
Following Council’s assessment, the proposal was approved in accordance with the relevant provisions of the planning framework, including the Coastal Hazard Overlay Code (for both accepted and assessable development), the Dwelling House Code (accepted and assessable development), the Flood Hazard Overlay Code, and State Code 8 relating to coastal development and tidal works.
This approval demonstrates a careful and compliant approach to development on constrained coastal sites, providing certainty for the client while ensuring environmental and hazard considerations were appropriately addressed.
