Heritage Exemption Secured | Commercial Fit-Out – Spring Hill

JREY, trading as Urban Planners Queensland, obtained a Heritage Exemption Certificate from the Department of Environment and Science for proposed internal works to a State-listed heritage commercial building in Spring Hill. The exemption confirmed that referral to the State was not required for the scope of works.

In addition, JREY secured written advice from Brisbane City Council confirming that the proposed internal works constituted accepted development and did not require a development permit.

By obtaining both State and local government confirmation, the project risk was significantly reduced, providing certainty around statutory requirements and enabling the client to proceed confidently with the commercial office fit-out. This approach streamlined approvals, minimised delays and supported a timely project delivery.
